About the project:
The Uncommon Story: Notable North Carolinians is a series of short videos designed to inspire greatness and educate students about some of the amazing people in North Carolina history.
The first season of 24 short (1-2 minute) videos was made in partnership with the NC Department of Cultural Resources and licensed to PBS NC. We've been working with the NC Department of Public Instruction to share this content in schools across our state.
These short, entertaining and educational videos are meant to inspire young people to achieve greatness, while learning about and celebrating some of the amazing and diverse people from across our state. The stories are told using fun visuals, graphics, and music, making the content perfect for motivating, educating, and inspiring students in schools across North Carolina. The content covers a variety of categories, including STEM, arts, sports, business, and more.
We are currently doing outreach and marketing for the first season, and we are in development to produce hundreds more videos.
