About the film:

Journey of a Thousand Miles tells the powerful and deeply personal story of a once-notorious gang leader, convicted of shooting two police officers, who was released in late 2020 after serving 17 years of a 30-year sentence. This is a man who carried a “FUCK LAPD” tattoo across his neck but now works to bridge the gap between offenders and victims.

This documentary asks profound questions many of us wrestle with:

Is redemption possible?

Can a person truly change?

Rather than offering easy answers, the film delves into the complexity of human transformation, steering clear of simplistic judgments and inviting viewers to confront their own beliefs.

By focusing on the emotional, personal journey of one man, Journey of a Thousand Miles touches on themes of forgiveness, accountability, and the capacity for change. The film aims to spark a broad dialogue across the political spectrum, not just about the criminal justice system, but about human nature itself.
