Support The Unlocking the Arts Fund:
The Opening Doors’ Unlocking the Arts Fund ensures that every student — regardless of financial circumstances — can access our transformative arts programming. Through the Fund, we will provide free educational programs and residencies to under-resourced schools across New England, removing the financial barriers that stand between young people and the arts.
Your gift directly expands student access to our programs at no cost to the schools and communities that need them most.
About The Opening Doors Project:
The Opening Doors Project amplifies voices of color and advances interracial conversations about race through the arts. Our organization grew out of the simple but urgent idea that music and honest conversation can help us understand each other across our differences.
Founded in 2021 by Alastair Moock and Stacey Babb, Opening Doors began with live-streamed performances that connected artists and audiences during the pandemic, in the wake of the murder of George Floyd. We’ve since grown into a robust organization with one of New England’s most diverse rosters.
Today, our concerts, workshops, and school programs, including “Race and Song: A Musical Conversation,” our flagship program for students and teachers, bring people together in schools, libraries, theaters, senior centers, congregations, and performing arts centers across New England and beyond.
