Filmmakers Collaborative (FC) has provided an array of resources and fiscal sponsorship for the independent filmmaking community for over 35 years. We are proud that we have served as the fiscal sponsor for hundreds of films, including numerous award-winners, at a cost that remains among the lowest in the country. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, approximately 55% of our operating budget has always come directly from the 5% administrative fee that we retain from fiscal sponsorship for these projects.

In 2016 we ventured into the world of youth programming and created FC Academy. FC Academy is an educational program geared toward teaching students ages 8-18 how to make short films. We believe that introducing kids to the latest technology and filmmaking techniques — as well as giving them a vehicle for expressing themselves creatively — will provide them with invaluable tools for their academic futures and beyond. This program runs as both a tuition-based program, and a philanthropically supported effort in underserved communities at no cost to their families. In this, we envision a marriage of our 35-year history of supporting professional filmmakers with the ability to mentor the next generation of media makers.
